Tosamaganga's educational history reaches back to the first decades of the twentieth century. The 2026 centenary programme identifies 1926 as the establishment year of Tosamaganga Secondary School, marking 2026 as its 100th anniversary.

The institution developed within the wider educational work of the Consolata mission at Tosamaganga, where schools and teacher-training institutions were established.

In 1929, Tosamaganga became the first mission school to present candidates for the Central Schools Leaving Certificate Examination, with six candidates recorded as taking the examination.

The institution's educational role expanded beyond secondary schooling. Government records from 1962 identify the Immaculate Heart of Mary Teacher Training College at Tosamaganga.

By 1968, the Tanzania Government Gazette listed Tosamaganga Secondary School as Registration No. S.1 and identified the Consolata Fathers as its foundation body.

A century later, education remains at the centre of Tosamaganga's identity.
